Often when one is experiencing stress, the first thing that one may notice is the tension. If you have tight muscles that feels hard to your touch and having trouble concentrating ; feeling irritable and jumpy, you should handle this as a warning to have something done about the stress you are under. If you seek help immediately, it may prevent you from having long term effects from stress. It is important to have comfort in one's life.

Do you know the symptoms of stress?

Rapid heartbeat

Stiffness in the neck

Rapid breathing

Experiencing extreme sweating or sweaty palms

There may be times when one may notice different signs of stress that may effect one's way of thinking ; behavior; or one's mood. They may experience:

Get frustrated or become irritated causing one to lose one's temper or even find oneself yelling at others for no apparent reason.

Being jumpy or feeling exhausted.

What is acute stress?

Acute stress is commonly known as "(short term stress). This is the body's reaction to a sudden or demanding situation. One may experience different levels of stress according to the intensity; how long the emotion lasts; how one finds oneself able to cope with the demanding situation. It seems humans are quick to recovery from acute stress. Others may find that stress can lead to more problems if their body hasn't had enough time to get back to normal. If an individual has heart problems, they could experience abnormal heart rhythm or even a sudden heart attack.

There are several stress disorders that can be brought on by sexual abuse; war; traumatic events; or even life threatening events. They may be recognized by the terms:

What if you suffer from chronic stress?

Chronic stress is often brought on by a number of irritating or long term conditions. It may be one's job performance; or having to live with a chronic disease such as cancer. People that suffer from high levels of chronic stress may find that the effects last longer and the lasting effects can effect or cause:
