All your life you may have been looking for that perfect scent. You may have gone to different shops, sniffed so many bottles, and spritz on a little amount of each on your wrists. It's an outwearing process but at least you found the one. However, you noticed something. Why is it that every time you wear it, the scent doesn't stay that long? It does seem like you're just wasting away that perfect perfume. So, to save you from getting your perfume wasted and from feeling perfume-frustrated, here are useful ways to make perfume stay longer all-day and all-night.

1. Do the skin check. Before applying perfume, see to it that you have washed your skin. Examine closely if you have skin issues that may result in an unpleasant smell or odor. Never use perfume in hiding body or skin odor for it will only work shortly and soon the odor will overwhelm the perfume's fragrance. Thus, it is important to seek professional help when it comes to body or skin issues that are interrupting the overall effect of your perfume. Most importantly, ensure that you don't have any skin irritations or sores before using any perfume. Unpleasant body odor may result from this.

2. Bear in mind that perfume is not deodorant or antiperspirant. Perfume and antiperspirant/deodorant serves different purposes. So don't use one to replace the other. Make sure that you're not wearing perfume as an antiperspirant or deodorant. If you're worried that a deodorant's smell will overpower your perfume's fragrance, don't be. In contrast, deodorants or antiperspirants help heighten the perfume's effect since they remove unwanted body odor.

3. Moisture prolongs perfume. If you may not have known it, perfume works well in an environment that is moist. Thus before applying, examine closely the condition of your skin. If it's dry then it's about time that you put on moisturizer to help improve its moisture content. You must take into consideration buying a moisturizer or lotion that has similar smell or scent with your perfume.

4. Discover the pressure points. Common pressure points are your neck, wrists and the back of your knees. Before you spray on them, make sure they're moist enough so as to maximize the staying power of perfume.

5. Store perfume in the right place. Make sure perfumes are kept in a place not too cold and not too hot. Ensure that bottles are covered with the right lids to prevent the scent from evaporating.
