Any couple that has a small baby at home knows how difficult it is at times to keep up with the clothing accessories that their small child wears. Some children are so small that they do not even realize that some of their accessories are missing. It is easy to find replacements for these clothing items but parents get tired of bearing the expense to replace these things.
Some of the clothing accessories that a newborn might lose could be missing before they leave the hospital. Some parents do not count the number of blankets that they take to the hospital when they are in labor. Some of those blankets are meant to be used just to bring the child home in and are usually packed away weeks ahead of time and parents never think about it again until they bring the child home.
Some of these blankets and accessories will be used to make the child comfortable while they are in the bassinet in the hospital and are washed by the nursing staff but never returned. These make identification of the child easy and serve as a lasting reminder of the day that the child was born and can be placed inside a baby book for later review when the child gets older.
