A Relaxing Do It Yourself Spa

Relaxation is a luxury everyone is entitled to. Even God Himself took a rest on the seventh day. It is also evident around town as there are many different types of spa salons existing. On the other hand, not everyone can pay for it. Indeed it requires a big amount to feel like a hundred bucks each time you step out of the salon. For people who can afford it, it is worth every penny. But for those who can't, they just put off relaxation until they already have enough money to afford it - that is after going through a period of intense budgeting.

But thanks to today's wide array of products that you can choose from, you can have your own spa salon at home. All you have to do is to know exactly what kind of products your skin needs and wants and then take them home with you. Then you can start your own do-it-yourself spa. A spa in your own comfort zone at half the cost, why not?

Here are the seven easy steps to help get you started on your "me time" project.

Step 1. Prepare the ambiance. Turn off all sources of light to dim the room. Lay out lighted aromatic candles and soft relaxing music. You may also put up curtains. However, that could most likely start a fire since you have candles burning. And lastly, bear in mind that you might be allergic to certain smells.

Step 2. Exfoliate by rubbing exfoliating creams or a loofah in a circular motion towards your heart. This is to scrub off dead skin and it also greatly improves blood circulation.

Step 3. The next step is to bathe with lukewarm water to open your pores. It helps the moisture sink in and at the same time releases trapped dirt.

Step 4. Use body wash, with citrus smell to energize or lavender scent to relax, all over your body to wash away the scrubbed dead skin cells. Body washes with moisturizing factors are a big plus.

Step 5. Then, bathe in cold water to rinse off the bubbles. This will also close pores and that will finally seal in the moisture from the body wash. You can also use soap instead. However, it does not promise the same moisturizing effects on the skin as body washes.

Step 6. Apply body moisturizers. You can choose over lotions, body butters, creams, or oils. A little goes a long way is totally not the mantra. Spread generous dollops of the moisturizer all over the skin and try to put more on the elbows, knees and around the feet. These spots are rougher than any other part of the body.

Step 7. Finally, lounge around the house in a soft, terry-cloth robe. The warmth of the robe will help the moistures sink deep down into the skin. Then you can sip tea. The tea does not have to organic. It just has to be very warm for you to be able to totally relax.
