If there is one thing that is common among weddings, that is costs and expenses. Unlike your favorite fairy tale where the princess simply walks down the aisle to meet her prince, weddings these days can costs an arm and a foot if you are not careful. It is therefore very vital that you plan ahead and check on your wedding expenses unless you want to find yourself penniless and flabbergasted the day after your wedding. Think, the both of you have your whole life ahead of you - making a family and that would entail having a small treasure to start off too.

First things first, the earliest cost involved in the wedding is the engagement ring, the ring that started everything. An engagement ring is actually optional but tradition and some culture have rendered it to be an important element for proposals. They say the greater the value of the ring, the more it says of your love for your cherished one. This is of course a big myth. The engagement ring need not be that expensive. Choose something that is within your budget. There are a lot of styles to choose from, you can work on the design in picking out one that would impress your soon to be wife. If she loves you that much, she won't mind anyways.

The engagement ring is not the only ring to be considered in a wedding. There is of course the wedding bands that would signify your "I dos". These are going to be the rings that you would dress your ring finger during the rest of your lifetime and even after that. This is the ring that would constantly remind you that you have made a vow to love your spouse in sickness and in health; in good times and in bad times until death do you part. And again, these rings need not be expensive. A good jeweler will be able to assist you in selecting one that complements you and your budget. You may want to add in engravings for a more personal and intimate effect.

Now we go to the list of your wedding expenses. It is important to establish an estimate budget for your costs and then break it down so you can appropriately decide on how much you are spending for each. The following are the fundamental considerations that you need to account for: the bridal attire, the reception, the flowers, the music, photography, invitations, cake, and favors.

You can also squeeze in your expense for the honeymoon, if you wish. With the use of percentages or dollar amounts, you can set up a floor and a ceiling cost for your disbursements. It is recommended that you do research first before settling on a particular cost. Ask around, you never know you might find a helpful financial tip or get a good deal somewhere else. Check your expenses every time you make a payout. Keeping track and monitoring your outlays can cause you less stress. Being careful and in control may give you a few benefits as well. You may find yourself getting savings from one aspect, enough to allow you to spend an added oomph on that wedding gown. Now, that would be a joy.
